Pets can stay in the comfort of their own home, in their own beds, and relaxing environment. Pets are home when you arrive. No need to worry about dropping off or picking up your pets from kennel or work around kennel hours. Prices are competitive with most kennels/boarding facilities. You’ll particularly save when you have multiple pets.

    While there are many reasons to use Red Dog Sitting Services, here are just a few: ​ We are bonded and insured, guaranteeing safety and security of your home and pets while they are in our care. We provide copies of all related documents for every new client. With a former nurse and vet tech as well as trained, professional pet sitters on staff, we are comfortable with and capable of administering medications, bottle-feeding, and any other special needs service required. Home Guardianship is included in our prices, giving you peace of mind that your home is also cared for. We’ll bring in your mail and packages left at your house, rotate lights, curtains, and/or blinds, manage your home security system and adjust your thermostat as needed. We are always available and reachable while you are away. We will provide regular updates via e-mail, text or phone. However, you are welcome to contact us any time for an update, special request, change in schedule or if you simply just need to check-in. Guaranteed love, affection, play, and exercise with every visit to keep your pets healthy and happy. We are quick to respond, readily available, and reliable. (References are available upon request).   • What services do you provide?
    Dog walking, in-home pet sitting, in-home overnight pet sitting, pill and injection administration, pet taxi to/from vet or groomer, errand–running to pet store or related service provider, yard or litter waste clean-up and much more!   • What types of animals do you care for?
    Our pet sitters have personal experience with all types of animals, including traditional farm animals, dogs, cats, fish, birds, reptiles, small pets such as guinea pigs or hamsters, and much more. We are happy to care for any type of pet or any number of pets. Should you have concerns or special needs, don’t hesitate to ask. We’ll do our best to accommodate.
  • What areas do you service?
    We provide pet sitting services in the greater Huntsville, AL and Birmingham, AL, metro area, including all areas of Jefferson and Shelby counties. We are expanding all the time, so don’t hesitate to ask. Click here to see our service area map
  • Will you take last-minute requests?
    Although we’d prefer to have sufficient notice for planning purposes and to ensure adequate staffing, we are happy to accommodate last-minute requests. And generally, there is no extra charge for last-minute requests.
  • What are your rates?

  • How and when do you expect payment for services?
    Based on your request and your pets’ needs, we will develop a schedule of visits that works for you. Based on that schedule, we will prepare an estimate for service prior to services being rendered. Traveling clients: prepayment in full is required for most traveling clients needing traditional pet sitting services. Weekly 'frequent-flier' clients: invoicing and payment is usually done on a weekly basis toward the end of the given week of service. Other payment options can be discussed and agreed upon as well. Types of payment currently accepted: electronic forms of payment are most popular right now - Red Dog Sitting currently accepts Venmo, PayPal, and Cash App. Credit card and personal check are options as well. Reservation deposits: a 50% prepayment deposit may be required to confirm your reservation for pet care needs falling during some major holidays (currently for Thanksgiving and Christmas time though these may be expanded).
  • Will there be consistency in the care of my pets?
    Generally speaking, a specific pet sitter will be assigned to you. However, should there need to be multiple pet sitters on any given assignment due to emergency or scheduling efficiency, your level of service will not suffer. Every team member receives clear instructions – verbal and written – and is thoroughly trained on the care of your pets. You are invited to meet the sitters at any time that is convenient for you prior to or upon completion of service, if you so desire.
  • Do you screen your sitters? How do I know your sitters will provide proper care for my home and pets?
    Our sitters go through a rigorous interview process, including multiple training visits and hands-on practice with Red Dog Sitting Services owners, Karl and Cydney. For each new client, owners attend with the pet sitter, ensuring proper direction and training. We also conduct standard criminal and background checks. For added protection, we are bonded and licensed, protecting both your pets and home while in our care. Soon, we will be instituting a 3rd party post-visit survey to ensure continued satisfaction with our services.
  • What is involved in the Meet 'n Greet?
    For each new client or upon a client’s request, we will meet with you in person to meet your pets and get detailed instructions about their care and the care of your home. This gives you and your pets an opportunity to learn more about Red Dog Sitting Services. It also ensures that your pets are comfortable with us. This is also when we provide proof of our legal documentation, our contract and obtain a copy of your key (if available). Meet ‘n Greets typically run 30 minutes to an hour.
