


Lucky dogs get a second chance at finding people of their own
Birmingham, Ala. – As man celebrates a new year and counts his blessings, around
two-
Red Dog Sitting donated a large portion of its charitable fund and manpower to transport 23 dogs from the Shelby County Humane Society shelter in Columbiana to New Hampshire where effective spay and neuter laws have actually created a demand for the adoption of shelter dogs. Since the program started in 2006, the Shelby County Humane Society has transported 2,843 animals.
Less than a year ago, entrepreneurs Karl and Cydney Buchholz started Red Dog Sitting as a way to earn a living doing what they love – caring for animals. But in addition to their passion for pet care, they found a way to help even those animals without people of their own to care for them.
“It was important for us to provide more than just a quality business service,” said Karl. “We wanted to create a way in which we could bring a better quality of life and hope to animals not fortunate enough to have loving home environments.”
Services offered by Red Dog go far beyond sitting. Clients of the company can expect their beloved pets to receive the same love and attention they would get if they could bring them along on their time away from home. As an alternative to boarding, animals stay in the familiar environment of home and within their comfortable routine. No animal is turned away due to size, age or medical needs.
